Going to Taylor-West is a very different experience compared to all other Optometrists. Their eye-test examination is based on a no-rush approach and goes well beyond the ‘one size fits all’ standard NHS test. The outcome is that you get a far more detailed explanation of your current eye-health along with a commitment to monitor subsequent changes. The choice of lenses and frames to match your prescription is also very professionally carried out without any pressure to settle for something in haste. I have been a user of many different opticians over several decades, but my experience of Taylor-West’s is far superior to any others that I have used.

All the family have annual eye tests here and we have consistently found the team to be very welcoming and highly professional. Eye health is so important and it is great to get a really thorough and regular check. It is a well resourced optometrist and it is very helpful to get straight forward explanations of why particular tests are being carried out and then seeing the results year on year.

Fantastic customer service! I wanted to buy some new glasses and went into 4 different opticians on Northcote Roade, stumbling onto Taylor West out of curiosity. Az is extremely helpful and knew exactly what kind of glasses would fit my face shape. It’s great to actually meet someone who is passionate about what they do and I learnt lots of new things! A wonderful practice, it’s small and so feels friendly and welcoming, and yet it’s got all the modern equipment. It was great to be walked through the results of my eye examination by Kyrstie and learn from it and not feel rushed. Ibo was super helpful in choosing from a collection of very nice frames. Great experience at Taylor & West! Ibo at reception was super friendly as ever, plus had an amazingly thorough and kind eye examination by Sophie (Taylor-West). I went in with concerns about my eyes and came out completely de-stressed, fully understanding what is going on for my eye conditions right now. Wonderful choice of frames to choose from (including a whole wall of the amazing Kirk & Kirk styles!). Cannot recommend enough.

I went to Taylor-West for an eye examination and to buy new glasses and was very impressed by the service received. The eye examination by Kyrstie was extremely thorough and professional who gave lots of time to answer all my questions. The shop was staffed by Ibo and he was a real jewel – so friendly and expert and he gave really excellent advice and service and at no point did i feel rushed despite trying on numerous frames and taking time to reach a final decision. Overall i would highly recommend the service and expertise and professionalism of the Lewes branch.

Staff are attentive, knowledgeable and really take your preferences in to consideration. I was guided in choosing a pair I really love- but wouldn’t have thought to pick up myself!

Examinations here are very thorough; nothing is too much trouble and questions are answered fully and honestly. I really trust the optician; she knows her stuff and has been absolutely brilliant. It is also a happy place to visit – everyone is really friendly and it makes for a great place to come for eye tests and to buy amazing new glasses, which are unique and impactful.

A very impressive team. They made my visit a joy and the eye examination was thorough, easy, friendly and very well explained. I don’t know I’ve ever had a better eye health check up in my life. Really took care of me. All the staff are friendly, and made me feel right at home even though it was my first visit. The store is a unique experience. Nicely decorated and a fantastic range. There is a friendly little dog who is delighted to see everyone. Altogether I would highly recommend.

She explained everything she found very clearly and recommended a solution to my problems which was very welcome. The store is very modern looking and comfortable with the frames very well displayed and so easy to see – the decision on which to have is the hardest thing!
