I’m an Optometrist and the founder of Taylor-West & Co. When I first imagined opening my own practice, my goal was simple: to create a space where people feel completely at ease. I wanted to move away from the cold, clinical feel of many healthcare settings and instead build somewhere warm, welcoming and stylish, without ever compromising on the standard of care.

At the heart of what I do is a commitment to gold-standard eye care. I have a particular passion for advanced contact lens fitting, including scleral lenses and lenses designed to reduce higher-order aberrations, which can transform vision for patients with complex needs. To deliver this level of care, I’ve continually invested in the very latest technology, from aberrometry to hospital-grade imaging, so that my patients have access to innovations usually reserved for specialist centres. I also keep a close eye on new treatments, such as photobiomodulation for macular degeneration, ensuring that we can offer the most forward-thinking solutions as soon as they become available.

But eye care, for me, is never just about the clinical side. I believe people should leave their eye examination feeling cared for, understood and confident; whether that’s through clearer vision, greater comfort, or finding eyewear that makes them look and feel incredible. That’s why I curate a collection of independent eyewear brands chosen for their individuality, craftsmanship and style. It’s all about bringing together the science and the artistry of seeing beautifully.

Outside of practice, I’m happiest with my husband and our twin boys, often plotting our next family adventure. I’m also a keen maker and love sewing in my spare time, which gives me a different creative outlet and keeps me grounded.
